It's often said that the best things come in small packages. Well it's certainly true of dinky Orasac. Small but perfectly formed, it nestles below cushiony green hills to the north of Dubrovnik. And it's perhaps its position at the foot of Sorcerer's Hill - or Vracevo Brdo as it's known locally – that makes it so magical. But it's more likely to be the refreshingly rural combination of fresh air, amazing views and old-world charm that'll leave you spellbound. Life here hasn't strayed into the fast lane and there are no high-rise hotels or superstores. Instead you've got two tiny mini-markets, a restaurant or two and a couple of pebble beaches overlooking the Elaphite Islands. There's even a castle perched on the cliffs above the sea. So it's about as far from the madding crowds as you can get. That said, with the cobbled streets and pavement cafe culture of Dubrovnik just a short drive away, you'll feel anything but isolated here. Orasac is as mellow as they come and you'll be stepping in time to the easy going pace here in no time. In fact after a couple of days snuggled away among the olive groves, you'll be so relaxed you'll never want to leave.
