A Torra 2

In Corsica, houses right by the sea are rare and those with pools as well are almost unknown, so we are delighted to offer 'A Torra', two semi-detached villas with a splendid swimming pool, set in glorious grounds adjacent to a cluster of fishermen's cottages, the Marine de Farinole.

Just in front of A Torra is a stone beach and a five minute scramble around the headland brings you to a lovely sandy cove and then on to a long sandy beach with nothing behind it but a pizzeria-restaurant, which makes a convenient spot for enjoying delicious meals on the sea-facing terrace.

The Moronis are the most hospitable and jolly hosts imaginable and they occasionally drop in to A Torra on their morning round to give their guests the opportunity to enjoy fresh bread and croissants, or their speciality: traditional 'canistrelli' biscuits.

Leafy trees on the lawn are perfect for dozing under on sunloungers and there is heaps of space in the gardens for children to play. The piece de resistance is, of course, the beautiful pool, which has a special filtering system which avoids the use of chlorine and so is good for children (or adults) with sensitive skin and eyes, especially if, as is likely, whole days are spent in and around the pool. Those days now come with added peace of mind, since the Moronis have installed an attractive safety fence around the pool.

Just inland are magnificent mountains with small villages perched on their ridges. Few people explore this wonderful landscape either by car or foot, so you can find peaceful woods, sleepy hamlets, mountain streams and rock pools - and have them, usually, all to yourselves.
