"On Corsica's rugged Western coast between Galeria and Calvi, Ferayola lies scattered amid shady woodland and thriving wildlife. A nature lover's paradise, this rural haven puts you on the path for excellent walking opportunities, through rolling hills or along the impressive coastline. Set on a hillside itself, this small settlement offers sea views from almost every point. If you want to get away from it all, you can't do much better than Ferayola, with the distinctive sound of cicadas and the gentle sea breeze rustling the leaves all there is to disturb the peace."
Ferayola's closest beach is nearby Argentella, so called because of the deserted silver mine that over looks it. This beautiful shore is lined with smooth, uniquely coloured pebbles, all the colours of the spectrum, and is of course, lapped by the clear waters that surround Corsica. The Argentella silver mine, with its impressive chimney, is worth a look around, if a little eerie. You'll find the nearest big town centre 25 kilometres north of Ferayola at Calvi, while real eco-tourists mustn't miss the Scandola Nature Reserve south of Feryola, viewable only by boats which can be caught at Calvi, Galeria and Porto.
