Hotel Stella Marina

Galeria is a serene place for those hankering after unalloyed pleasures and such lovers of the simple should delight in the family-run Hotel Stella Marina. With its pleasant situation at the farthest end of Galeria, near the harbour and only yards from the beach, with its brand new outdoor pool, its relaxed welcome and complete lack of pretension, the Stella Marina provides attractive but simple accommodation.

It is bright and friendly, with spacious rooms, each with a large, well-fitted shower room and a big, private balcony with a lovely view over the yachts at anchor to the mountains beyond. The rooms are set in a tranquil garden which is backed by a maquis-covered hillside. In front, is the hotel restaurant, which is just across the lane from the beach and has a charming terrace looking towards the misty blue peaks across the bay.

The Stella Marina has one of the best positions in Galeria for enjoying both view and food but the other half dozen restaurants in the village, all within a five to ten minute walk, can also be sampled as, unlike most other hotels, the Stella Marina offers bed and breakfast, rather than obligatory half board, throughout the season. Having enjoyed a first meal at the Stella Marina, however, you may well decide to switch to half board and you can do this directly with the owners, Monsieur and Madame Canava.
