The countryside and woodland around Porto Vecchio are renowned for their unspoilt beauty, especially the stunning Bavella massif, one of many excursions that can be made in a day-trip from this area. Casa Mela is therefore a real find, being only 10 kilometres from Porto Vecchio itself, and also just a 20 minute drive from the numerous beautiful beaches nearby.
The villa is situated in private grounds, the extensive gardens on two levels providing a wonderful play area for children, while an array of flower-filled pots and bushes gives the grounds a gentle and homely feel, in contrast to the spectacular untamed countryside just beyond.
The villa interior is extremely welcoming and very comfortable, with its spacious living room and impressive stone-built fireplace invoking a convivial mood. The kitchen is well equipped with a breakfast bar, full oven and fridge-freezer, while a separate laundry room contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board, all ensuring that your stay here is stress free, with every home convenience to hand.
The large terrace that leads from the French windows of the living room is romantically illuminated at night, inviting dinner and entertainments to continue well into the evening. Steps lead down from this terrace to the garden and lawns behind the house. The villa has been designed to encourage the al fresco lifestyle at every opportunity, and a stone-built barbecue to the side of the house means you may never use the kitchen!
The quaint hamlet of Mela is just 200 metres away, where you will find a traditional Corsican restaurant. There is the added attraction of also being only a few minutes' drive away from a working farm, where local organic produce can be bought to prepare delicious and healthy meals. Porto Vecchio itself has many superb restaurants, for those who wish to enjoy a meal or aperitif in livelier surroundings.
