Bergerie Murtetu

Located in the same gorgeous setting as its neighbour, Olivella, Bergerie Murtetu's southwest facing location means it is particularly well-placed for the evening's entertainment of watching the glorious sunsets over the Valinco Gulf. It is hard to believe that this luxurious and comfortable villa was once a mere shelter where animals were kept. The name comes from the myrte which grows on the surrounding hillside and was picked by the locals to use in making their own eau de vie or other such liqueurs which may be sampled in local auberges as a digestif.
All three bedrooms open onto the well-tended gardens and the wonderful pool is just a dozen or so steps below the garden, surrounded by a terrace on which to while lazy hours away with an eye on the magnificent views. The spacious and airy lounge area with wooden-beamed ceiling also opens on to the terrace so which ever room you are in the Mediterranean air is not far away. For those wishing to explore the surrounding area many historic sights are within easy reach including the megalithic site at Filitosa and the surrounding countryside begs to be explored on horse, bike or foot.
