Petite Brietta

Dappled sunlight dances on the water of the private swimming pool and warms the terrace of this characterful villa, nestling in the trees. Only four kilometres from St Florent, Petite Brietta is what summer holidays are all about and we are delighted to have found it for our programme. It's a lovely, peaceful spot, tucked away in the countryside, yet only ten minutes' drive from a long sandy beach, shops and restaurants.

Inside, the villa feels bright and airy, with simple, modern furnishings and neutral decor. The three double bedrooms each have a distinct character. One is wooden floored, with an en suite shower room. It is located slightly apart from the others, near the main door, thus affording more privacy, and has its own small veranda. Of the other two, one opens onto the poolside terrace, the second onto the garden. Both have cool, tiled floors and share a shower room between them.

The terrace area leads directly to the swimming pool, surrounded by gently swaying trees, ensuring a real sense of calm and seclusion. There's a covered deck with table and chairs, just begging you to light up the barbecue or emerge from the kitchen with a freshly brewed cup of coffee.

The sandy beach of La Roya, in St Florent, is about a ten minute drive away. Here you'll find a range of watersports in high season. In the town there is a good choice of restaurants, ranging from traditional Corsican eateries to those serving seafood specialities or pizza.
