Inside, the decor has been chosen for simple style, with a strong traditional flavour. Tall windows make the most of the beautiful scenery in all directions, while wooden furniture and pale furnishings make the interior view almost as appealing. The lower apartment benefits from a pergola covered with twined and trailing vines. Closer to home, there is still plenty to discover.

The welcoming, stone-built house containing these two apartments is set in an attractive paved courtyard on a steep hillside of the Thirean plain. The wooded peak of Mount Zavitsa dominates the skyline to the rear of the house, while the serene waters of the Argolis shimmer at the foot of the hill and into the distance, making either of the apartments' shaded terraces an enchanting spot. Angeliki's House is supremely placed for those who wish to explore this beautiful region. As well as the fascinating historical town of Nauplion, which is reached in 20 minutes along a good coastal road, it is easy to take day-trips to Athens or the Argo-Saronic islands.

A visit to Paralio Astros itself is well rewarded by the pretty harbour, tavernas, and the Venetian castle which looks over the town. The coastline of the area also yields enchanting, undiscovered villages, where tradition still reigns supreme and which are a joy to explore. Of course, if it is relaxation you are looking for, Angeliki's secluded position offers peace and tranquillity. The short but steep walk down the hill is well worth the effort for the glorious unspoilt beach with views over the Argolic gulf lies at its end.
