Mylos Villa

An introduction to Mylos Villa

With incredible views over the olive tree-lined hills to the blue waters of the Ionian sea and only a couple of minutes' walk to the quaint town of Magazia, the Mylos Villa is the perfect away-from-it-all retreat. Paxos itself is tiny and the lack of an airport has probably saved the island from the ravages of tourism. The island is only 12 by 4 kilometres and covered in flora, making it a walker's paradise. The dramatic cliffs and Erimitis caves are only a 45 minute hike away and the restaurant there is the ideal spot from which to watch the sun setting into the Ionian sea.

One of the first things you will notice about Villa Mylos is the light, airy feel of the spacious living area. With its large and well-equipped kitchen you may find it hard to not eat al fresco every night on your stunning terrace. Conveniently off the living room there is a double bedroom and a single bedroom that share a large bathroom with corner bath. The staircase from here leads to the upper floor where there are 2 further bedrooms with spectacular views and a shower room. Large patio doors lead directly from the living room onto the shaded terrace and pool area, which is the perfect spot to unwind after exploring or swimming all day.

Paxos lies around 10 kilometres south of Corfu and has some of the best beaches on the island, 30 in all to choose from. If you get bored of these, Anti-Paxos is only a mile away and has arguably some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. The beach at Lakka is even considered to be one of the top twenty beaches in Europe! Why not hire a boat and explore the coastline for your own favourite secluded cove? You're sure to find one even in August.

Villa Mylos is in a small hamlet and has a very steep driveway. Because of the location the views are fantastic. The roads are not busy and we found it easy to drive on Paxos. No stress at all. No nightlife in Magazia so we ate out in the day and then... more on this review
