Sitting in gorgeous green countryside, the only thing that's going to disturb you at Villa Alkyon are the birds singing and the sound of the cicadas. The silence here is golden. Surrounded by cushiony-green woodlands that are pin-drop peaceful, this place can't fail to relax you. But that's not to say you're miles off the beaten track. You can easily hop in the car and head down to the beach at Kaki Lagada or pick up some ingredients for dinner in nearby Magazia. Once you set eyes on this delightful holiday home though, it's unlikely you'll want to go far.
A traditional sugar-cube-style villa with bottle-green wooden shutters and a terracotta-tiled roof, Alkyon is typically Greek. Inside it's all cool flagstone flooring, whitewashed walls and authentic Greek furnishings. With an open-plan living space it's light and airy and has plenty of space for both families and couples sharing. Relax in the lounge area with its feature stone fireplace and sink-into-me sofas. Rustle up some local cuisine in the fully-equipped kitchen. And enjoy mealtimes at the elegant dining table which looks out over the gardens. You'll also find restful bedrooms which open out onto a balcony.
You'll probably want to spend most of your time outside though, and who could blame you? For a start, you've got your own private pool to cool off in. Sunk into a pretty paved terrace, it's flanked by cushioned sun loungers, manicured lawns and swishing trees. It's the perfect spot to unwind. And there's also an elegant al fresco dining area with a stylish table and canvas chairs. So, all that's left to do is fire up the built-in barbecue and enjoy.
