A clutch of low-level terracotta-coloured apartments, the Oasis Papagayo looks more like a pretty Spanish village than a 4T complex. Set in flower-filled gardens, it overlooks two lake-size swimming pools. Factor in a whirlpool bath, palm trees and yawning sun terraces and it's a picture-perfect scene.

As for the inside, you'll find spacious apartments decorated in neutral colour schemes. They've been kitted out with rustic Med-meets-Scandinavian furniture, plus they all come with kitchenettes. And for those times when you don't fancy cooking, there's a buffet and an a la carte restaurant.

The Oasis Papagayo scores well on the location front, too. Just nearby you've got a Brit-style pub, a pizzeria, an ice-cream parlour and a bowling alley. Plus it's just a 15-minute walk or bus hop to the beach and the resort centre. Not forgetting the waterpark that's right on your doorstep.

In summer, the Oasis Papagayo is transformed into a haven for families. It's part of our FamilyClub Xtra range so when it comes to entertaining the kids, it doesn't get much better than this. Cue a creche, a Thomson-run children's club and special entertainers for the little ones. And older guests aren't left out either. There's the Grid for teens and plenty in the way of activities like tennis, boules and watersports. Plus there's a host of entertainment like quizzes and talent shows, too.

Come winter time, the Oasis Papagayo is a more pared-down affair, perfect for couples and those seeking a quieter getaway. That said, there's plenty to see and do. Temperatures stay warm, even in winter, so you'll still be able to enjoy the pools. Plus you've got things like a bowling alley and tennis courts to choose from, too.
