An introduction to Villa Zen
At first glance, Villa Zen looks like it could be any other holiday hideaway. It's not though. This is something special. A semi-detached property, at first glance it looks just like its neighbour. Take a peek inside though, and it's a very different story. Like stepping into an exotic far East delight, this place has got gorgeousness by the bucket load. We're talking an oriental lounge. An Indian bedroom. And a Balinese pagoda. Definitely not your run-of-the-mill place. Painted in rich terracottas and mellow yellows, it makes you instantly feel like you've arrived in a far-flung land.
Set over three floors, handmade bamboo furnishings and Buddha statues sit alongside discreet mod cons like a DVD and CD player here. The only room that's not themed is the modern fitted kitchen, which has handy extras like a washing machine. Everywhere else you look there are beautiful little touches like plump cushions, spiritual-style paintings and unusual ornaments. You'll also find three restful bedrooms, all of which are doubles. A peaceful lounge area with a funky edge. And an elegant dining area with seating for eight.
Step outside onto the spacious roof terrace and you'll find another enchanting oasis. The private pool is flanked by a patio with sunbeds, flowers and a pair of mystical statues. The views look out over the Sapphire-blue seas and colourful houses of Adeje town. But the piece de resistance here has to be the covered Balinese pagoda. A raised area draped with white muslin curtains and comfy floor seating, it's perfect for chilling out in the shade. The ultimate exotic escape without the long-haul flight – Villa Zen will have you blissed out in nano seconds. After all – the Chinese writing on the roof terrace wall says it all. 'Long life, tranquillity and love'. What more could you ask for?
