Casa Las Riquelas

The villa's exterior has a handsome, traditional appearance, built from natural stone. The interiors are just as appealing, decorated in gorgeous colourwash effects whilst respecting the traditional architecture of the islands. The beautifully furnished living-dining room has two traditional Canarian windows either side of its corner fireplace - one offering views to Mount Teide on clear days, the other looking out towards the Atlantic. There are two attractive bedrooms in the main house and the third bedroom (with twin beds) has its own en suite shower room and is located underneath the terrace, with external access. The master bedroom is located on a gallery overlooking the lounge and dining area and is accessed by a small wooden staircase. Please note: the road leading to Villa las Riquelas is a steep, single, unmade track and we therefore do not recommend the villa to those with walking difficulties.

Las Riquelas is a perfect holiday haven for those who wish to do little but enjoy the views and the climate, but Villa las Riquelas is also perfectly placed for exploring the many historic towns of Tenerife's north, including La Orotava and La Laguna. Even closer to home, the attractive coastal town of Sauzal boasts many good restaurants, including a particularly fine one located in the local wine museum.

The steep, fertile slopes of El Sauzal are one of the prime wine-growing areas on Tenerife and, as a result, the region has always been quite affluent without the need to turn to tourism. As Villa las Riquelas is situated 650 metres above sea level, it allows for fabulous views from its terrace and well-cared-for garden area, settled amongst vineyards, up to the Majestic peak of Mount Teide and down to the rugged north coast.
